No good for MTB. How do you adjust the pressure for different rider weights / terrain / rider preference if the ride feel is fixed by the molecular arrangements of the material?

That bike would be kilos heavier after a ride on some of my local trails. That's perfect for collecting and holding the clay!

According to STC, a prototype version of the tyre that was built to simulate a standard pneumatic tyre inflated to 100psi has been ridden by the test team and the difference between the Metl tyre and a pneumatic tyre was “not noticeable”.

'Not noticeable' - not just your normal marginal gains, these are really marginal gains.

How many times have we seen different versions of radical solid/puncture proof/alternative material tyres over the last 20 years or so? If any of them were any better, cost and performance wise than the standard pneumatic tyre, we'd all be on them by now. Load of shite.

The great thing about air suspension as opposed to coil is that it’s easy to adjust for different weights and riding styles.

I suppose if your bikepacking you fit the heavy tyres and if it’s a quick blast on the same bike you fit the light tyres.

Or not.
