Seems SRAM have realised that not everyone is capable of following simple instructions to bleed brakes.

Or maybe they have realised that people don't want to spend half their life bleeding brakes.

Having seen a SRAM technician admit that codes aren't the right brakes for some people on my rather large mates bike in morzine after repeated bleeds and seal change plus my own experiences with juicys on the wife's bike I remain to be convinced

Interesting they've ditched the Avid brand (apparently because they know it's got a terrible rep) and they're on their third new rotor design in a short space of time, for the same reason (gobble).

Any word on 2-piece/CL rotors, or whether they're still doing the funny 170mm size?

Everyone knows Avid brakes are guff. They're cheap and they invariably come as part of a SRAM / Rockshox parts bundle that manufacturers struggle to turn down.

The question is are these really new brakes from the ground up? or are they just Avid under a different name...

Do they? My 4 sets are great, unlike any Hope(less) one's I've owned

Avid brakes. Never was the old Geordie proverb more apt.

'Ye cannae polish a turd'.

Interesting idea hopefully work as well as my Avids which have all been excellent and rarely bled.

'Ye cannae polish a turd'.

Yes you can. Turds were used for flooring in parts of Africa, they'd spread them across the ground and polish them once dry.

No, but as everyone knows, you can roll it in glitter.

These lever internals look overly complex to me and going to a short Shimano length lever is the last thing I want. I'll be buying a couple of sets of Trail 9's.
