Ripped a sidewall yesterday (conti mountain king protection) so want something a bit sturdierer than that for my first edooorooh, currently got a trail king on the front but would swap that too. but am a mega tight arse so want the cheapes possible. Anyone gambled on the geax tyres and if so what would you recommend - had a look at the Goma (xc casing?), DHEA (would get a hernia taking deliver of two of those), Gato (too light?), sturdy and Datura, lobo's look alright....... arrghhhh!!!

Just tell me what to do.

Gato have been good for me, I have a brand new 2.35 TNT that was fitted but came up too big for the rear.

Nice tyre and sidewalls seem good.

Currently running a Sturdy on the front and a Goma on the rear and is working well for me. Not had any issues and will most probably replace with the same.

Been running Saguaro and Gato and not had issues with sidewalls on either. Much prefer the Saguaro from a grip point of view though.

Running a Gato on the rear of my 29er, plus a couple of 26ers on my daughters bike. I'd say the 26 inch tyres come up pretty small, although the 29ers sizing seems pretty close.

No issues with either - great value for money.

hard wearing etc are well as everything else they do right, 10/10 stuff

I have a standard Goma 2.35 on the back and it's a little fragile. A touch slides too but the tread otherwise is good. I have a Datura TNT up front and like that a lot.
