over the wyre on sunday...
someone appears to have gone to great pains to kill trees, in highly inappropriate places, i.e. over some of the best trails...
we did what we could, removed one hulking tree altogether and built some little ramps so as to easily navigate the fallen trunks on others, otherwise the flow would be completely ruined, I'm talking Jedi and ankle cracker in particular.
Surely lopping down trees is far more destructive to a forest than a few muddy tire tracks? While the bikers have been away, waiting for the mud to dry, someone very ugly, and with a stinking attitude got busy!
May have fallen in the snow? Lots of trees down not just on trails. Must have followed you down Jedi. There was also a little ramp on Camber. It was riding much better than I expected.
Tried to move a tree on Garlic I think but no good on my own. Need a few larger group rides to clear the place.
to be fair, the sodden ground, heavy weight of snow and then high winds has fetched quite a few trees down, we were over there saturday and noticed quite a few down, some spectacular ones from the stream bank but i didn't thnk any were deliberate
the tree on camber with the little ramp was entertaining
we removed one from the stream bank, managed to snap bits off and wedge it between another tree, it took 3 of us...lol
maybe it is coincidence then, just seemed to much of a coincidence to us?
It's drying out nice though. I've only been riding since september and never seen it so dry.
Weather & wind I reckon. There's a few 'natural' falls around here too.
May have fallen in the snow?
Indeed - a couple of fallen trees and lots of very low hanging stuff on the Malverns after the recent snow. I'm pretty sure none of that was deliberate.

Shall have to take a trip up sometime soon - probably the driest since I've been capable of riding my uni there. The Malverns seem about the driest they've been since last April (just before it started raining continuously).
I went Sunday afternoon and noticed a few fallen trees. I moved one that I could over the far side but others were just too big. I'll take my small folding saw next time and do a bit of trail maintenance.
The tree on Camber was a problem though, the little ramp had mostly fallen apart.
All in all though the forest was riding far better than I expected.
Double death drop has a lovely pedal catching groove on the first drop due to water erosion, be careful out there folks!
The fallen trees on Jedi looked natural to me, but the sticks and branches every few metres didn't..
What's wrong with these people, Jedi isn't even in the 'Nature Reserve' area is it?

Hows 'Titty Track' aka Camber riding? Is the bridge back?
Its riding great. Firm all the way through. No bridge - just slabs now and a scramble up the bank.
Thanks djflexure i'll ride that tonight then, before it goes sticky from the rain again.
