If you're coming in from Wenlock, the main fire road climb up to the top of The Wrekin will be on your left at a three-way road junction near the cliff car park. Turn right and you can head into The Ercall for some jumps and fun. But the really good descents are off the top of The Wrekin. Once at the trig point (still facing the way you rode up), either carry straight on for a steep natural one, head left (keeping left) for a man made tight tech one, or turn around, ride a 100m or so and head left into the tee line for the tech one I think you're referring to. Very steep.

Not 100% sure but last time I was up there the steep man made trail starting near rhe transmitter had been closed. On the Wrekin mtbing is tolerated but use consideration as it gets very busy up there on weekends with walkers. The Ercall is also good fun and there are some jumps near the first car park as you drive up from Wellington. But strictly speaking bikes are not allowed so bare that in mind if you meet anyone though I have never had any problems.

This is from when I went, I found some really poorly built jumps though! Never did get the chance to go over to the Ercall.

It's not those, I found those. I did two laps of the wrekin and managed to find them. These jumps are really well built (credit to the guys who did them) there's a nice doubles, some nice drops and some decent step ups to berms.

Where abouts is this new section astura? I've not been up the Wrekin for awhile.... Got boring. These sound like they could make it more interesting though.

There is a circular fire road in there and its off there, the bottom part is the free ride stuff and the other parts are intense downhill. I didnt make it to the top because the bottom was so much fun. Its on the Shrewsbury side
