Perfect conditions this morning. A bright moon, 5 degrees, coffee in my belly and an empty 655 hectares of conservation park. Perfect start to the weekend.

Had to stop a few times to just take it all in.

Finished the ride with a dh Strava top 10 too 🙄

More Scotland for me, today was an out and back up Beinn a'Bhuird. 1000m of climbing, long old slog of a push/pedal but the descent was worth it!

38 degrees average temperature on Strava but my Garmin was showing 41 degrees in the shade for most of the second half of the ride. Thank god for the fountain as my water bladder was sucked dry by that point.

Not the weekend, but spent a couple of days Wed/Thu out with our D of E Bronze students. I get the job of biking between checkpoints and sweeping any lost/split groups. Couple of nice leisurely (mostly) days of old school XC rides.

Managed to get out early this morning, up on the Ridgeway above Cardiff.

Was around 19-22 degrees the whole time but glad I decided to only do the short loop as it quickly got to 25+ just after I'd finished! Lots of others out early for the same reasons, was like a trail centre up there it was that busy.

Do runs count too?

This is a route I've been meaning to do for a while. It can get boggy in places so I thought I'd take advantage of the recent dry weather.

No riding today. 4 bikes washed and lubed after our holidays. Didn't need much more than getting rid of all the dust.
Been on the lookout for another 2022 Turbo Levo that had little use and a decent price
Found an Expert on Pinkbike whilst away on holiday that had had a few upgrades so put down a deposit on it and collected it Thursday night. Bit of adjusting to set it up right this morning.

Do any Scottish rides / runs not involve epic, "wish you were here", scenery? Makes my North Down bimbles seem a little bit suburban. Still, hope to get out this evening when the temp drops to 25C.

Mrs_oab and I [s]wrangled Scotrail's dodgy timetable, diverted trains and shortage of bike space[/s] caught the train to Perth from Dunblane via Stirling, 🙄.
And cycled home.
A lovely 50km/600m climbing route down through Dunning, Auchterader and Braco.

No pics worth sharing, and Mrs_oab seems puggled, but it was a pleasure rolling through the warm headwind home.

There's a route around Cumbernauld that's a little less than scenic, but other than that, no.

Heehee.

Apart from booze, I'm as straight edge as they come.

But (and this is an arty farty philosophical conversation outside the scope of this thread probably), right from my Fine Art degree I've been interested in heightened visual and audio experiences of the world. I have a gut feeling that many visual artists and musicians experience things slightly differently to most people.

40km hilly gravel bike ride this morning out to the Peak via Stanage and Sir William Hill, back via Grindleford. Not really a biking photo but the views from The Barrel Inn at Bretton are superb.

Pretty much, passed 1 cyclist on the flat valley before the climb, then 2 walkers on the way up, 2 more at the top, then 2 mountain bikers going up as I was descending.

Not bad for 27km and 4hrs of riding.

It did drop by 20 degrees from the bottom to the top, though!

Some gentle laps of a few nice mellow Dunkeld trails today for me, legs are still done in from yesterday! Also the first time using a full face/convertible helmet & goggles, they work well! Great vision and obviously more protection which is good for these trails.

Mrsstu is feeling a bit tender after an off on Tuesday's ride so we just rode to the pub.
Turned out to be a 32 mile 1000 meters pub ride.😂

Didn’t want to get dehydrated…

@singlespeedstu - this is solid medical advice. I followed it myself last night 🙂

Having just spent an hour in our 100 degree loft so I could move some kit I was worried might catch fire, I think a second rehydration session may well be required 🙂

Hillsborough pump track looks great, wish I didn’t live the other side of Sheffield else I’d be popping in there quite a lot on my local rides.

We live in Heeley so it's about a 15 minute drive. You have to get there early though or it's not worth the trip. We've got a 1 year old who wakes us up early so we're usually there before 8.

By 9 o clock it's like a scooter riot.

Just a local jaunt as too hot to do any distance. Trails are getting a bit overgrown in places

Nice in the shaded woods though

More 'local' trails from the holiday cottage @ Aberfeldy, a mix of overgrown & powdery dry dust - oh and attack of the flies! Stand still for more than 30 seconds and about 20 horseflies would attack, even dousing myself in smidge wasn't working.

Might head over to Comrie Croft tomorrow, just haven't been feeling the more gnarly tracks here at the moment, haven't been able to get into the groove with them.

A really humid ride at Dunkeld today. It had rained overnight and was a bit overcast, so even the rocks were sweating.

A half-time pint went down well 😀

Cheers, tbh I think the smidge was running off with the buckets of sweat coming off me, same as Dunkeld it was cloudy but very humid in Aberfeldy.
