I read recently on here that someone rode this and enjoyed it so much today they planned to return..
I'm planning to do the same. Is it all smooth sailing?
I’ve done a decent chunk of it (Ceres to Lochore) and found it mostly enjoyable. The only bit I didn’t really enjoy was going through built up areas in Glenrothes.
i plan to use the route for some bikepacking during the holidays.
OP
Search and steal the gpx from somewhere, have heard that the signage is sketchy and there may be a lot of overgrowth just now.
Planning on doing it soon, down to the Forth bridge then Fife Coastal path back.
Post up how you get on.
I don’t think the original route went through Glenrothes and Kennoway. I’m sure I read that when they conceived this new route they wanted to drive tourism into these towns. Well there is a reason there is no tourism there.
A better route can be plotted to the North, taking in the Lomond hills, it is harder though.
Romola,interesting.
I had also heard that the original route had taken in part of the Lomond hills, will check that out..
If one wanted to rattle the whole thing off in a day, would it best on a gravel bike or MTB?
Gravel bike, the bit east of Ceres on Kinninmonth hill is quite a rough track but all doable on a gravel bike.
Adam Boggon did it. He seems to specialise in rides that put his friends off riding with him again…
