There will be ones of it muddy and used before the weekend is out 🙂
Am i the only person who hates how orange fives look
tootin yes
now move along nothing to see here for you.
Jim - did they supply Maxxis tyres - there were some in my LBS and they said that the odd one has been coming with them rather than the MK2.2's.
I want mine - stamps feet and cries
nice, shame you've not got white lowers on them there forks though! ;D
Tootin yes
Jim29, nice i like it
ooh, look at that big ugly 'industrial' weld on the swingarm....tootin, I'm with you...one man's meat is another man's poison
Am i the only person who hates how orange fives look
Nope, the swingarm is very 'Halfords' imo.
Tootin' nope, i think the welding looks like it was done by a blind monkey all IMHO of course
I hate how they look, but love how they ride, so I bought one. (twice seen as one was nicked)
Nope, the swingarm is very 'Halfords' imo.
To people who know chuff all about bikes 😉 anyone with an ounce of angineering knowledge can see the difference.
sorry but it does nothing for me
Don't really think engineering knowledge comes into it from a "how it looks kinda way" - it's a very simple single pivot with a swing arm of folded sheet aluminium.
anyone with an ounce of angineering knowledge can see the difference.
Does the really amateur looking welding have some kind of engineering advantage that I don't know about? 😛

Nope. Your not on yer own.
Love it - gorgeous colour and white bits rock! 😛
amateur looking welding
Talking of which, had a look on an apollo the other day, looks like a pigeons shat along the joints 😀 I think the weldings alright on Oranges, afterall, doesnt matter what it looks like so long as it holds!
Swingarm on the heckler looks more halfords like to me, still a lovely bike mind.
Is that plasma blue?
I've just had my 4 year old 5 refinished back at Orange H.Q. It is perhaps the best £175 I have spent! I had it finished in 'Cosmic White and it looks stunning! New paint, decals, badge, pivot bearings and back up to Scotland in under 3 weeks! Brilliant craftsmanship and brilliant service!
Congrats to those who have just recieved/ are soon too recieve theirs. You'll never look back!
Cheers
Evers
Ardent front, advantage rear? Eh?
I think they look great, myself. Gives an impression of "sod how it looks, lets worry about how it works", quite Forth Bridge.
And the old Heckler was prettier 😉
j.anstee - MemberIs that plasma blue?
Nope, Electric Blue
james - MemberArdent front, advantage rear? Eh?
Eh? You'd do it t'other way round?
MrNutt - Premier Membernice, shame you've not got white lowers on them there forks though! ;D
Yeah, slight bone of contention - is it to sad to sell brand new forks cos they have the wrong colour lower...?
Oh right, looks quite different in colour to the Five AM's electric blue!
Rather ride the 5th Bridge Northwind 😉
Never mind what the bike looks like, that doorknob is horrific
difficult to stand back and admire or dislike the look of it when riding it flat out with a grin, fwiw i think the ride is more important.
perhaps we should think of new bikes like our own babies, beautiful in our eyes cos its ours, type of thing!also seems cos people like orange 5s, and therefore get them, other people (who dont have them) like to go orange bashing.remember that happening to mount vision owners (i was one of them!) in the first 2 years they were out, but they were popular for a reason, bloody good bikes!
I dont own one myself but might do at some point, imho this one looks nice, lovin the blue.
can say i have never heard of anyone who owns a 5 say getting rid cos hate the look of it (or that it rides crap either for that matter)
perhaps its cos they are bloody good bikes also?!
anyway
happy new bike
It's horses for courses at the end of the day.
I appreciate not everyone like the look of Fives, but they look like it for a reason and you can't argue with how they ride.
And yes, the door knob is well gash...
Jim did those tyres come as standard equipment?
No mate, apparently it's Continental only in Halifax...
I've got a 5.
I love it.
'nuff said.
One thing you do notice, is not many ever come up for sale in the Classifieds. We know there's a lot of them about, so people must keep hold of them. Sign of a good bike.
very nice mate , ( note large gap under door)wish i could aford one.
I'm a fan, never owned one though.
really like the alpine 160s but too much bike for me ATM.
Apologies for dragging an old thread back up.
Got my Five today only 6 working days after order. Very happy - I did have to reject the Easton Monkey Lite bars that had a huge scratch on them but they swapped them over off another bike.
It came with Maxxis Advantage 2.25 and not MK 2.2's as they did previously. The LBS said they are all coming in donned in Maxxis now.
Hurah means I dont need to buy 2 new tyres.
