Mrs Eye's booked me a 4 hour session on the 20th of Jan, 2 days after my 40th.

I'm excited and full of trepidation at the same time.

Should I take my 100mm hardtail or my 'get out of jail free card' Mojo?

Anyone else doing it/done it/got some tales to tell?

Ive done it. Very good fun.
You can ride it on your HT, but perhaps your Mojo will give you more fun.

It is hard, not everyone I was with managed all the sections. In fact a couple of sections were only cleared by two of us out of a total of 12. There are some bits that are testing, some just hard and some downright scary.

Gap jump in the middle of a berm - only two of us did that, and it didnt look pretty. Some of the rocky drops were completely blind till you were committed.

Whatever bike you take, drop the seat.

If you want I can email you some photos from the day.

It was a brilliant day out, you will love it and end up with some respect for they guys/gals who competed.

The bloody climbs were tough, sure you can get up them, but not at race pace for two hours.

It did look easy on the TV, in the flesh its way harder.

Take both, first lap on the Mojo, then once you've "got your eye in" a fast lap on the HT!!

(then style it round on the back wheel of the Mojo for lap 3........ 😉

I have done it. I was on a five but most were on hard tails. It was really tough. We had one concussion and one broken ribs out of 14. The coaches were great though and really helped. The course is amazing and its well worth riding in its current form. I can't see them keeping the same layout for the public

I like this. 😀

Hopefully all the haterz who said 9 months ago that this course looked too easy will come along on hardtails with 100mm forks, 2.1" tyres and seats right up to show us all how it's done! 😆

It is hard indeed. The TV is not flattering, but the top level XC racers really can handle a bike too, not just stamp on the pedals hard and fast.
