We'll be posting updates here. There will be things that need tweaking and fixing and general snags. I'll keep you updated on the ones we know and are dealing with.

Known at launch: The likes (Thumbs up) is not working as it should. When you click it, it seems as if nothing has happened. But it has, If you refresh the page you will see your thumbs up has been registeted. Otherwise it takes up to 20 seconds for it to show. That will be fixed so that it is an instant reaction.

You may find that your first posts need to be approved by moderators. That's kind of the default situation for the forum and once we've clicked the tick we see next to your post you are all set for future posts.

Reminder: Site performance will likeley not speed up until we have completed the full historical import of the old forum. That could take several days.

Do you want issues highlighted here?

I notice that usernames don't necessarily match with what the old forum was displaying.  e.g. I suspect the old forum just displayed Mark for you, and mine never showed "I should know better".

Well done! Up a lot quicker than expected - I braced for a full day of downtime! 😀

How do we quickly jump to the last post of a thread - can't see an obvious way?

TBF Mark did say that Dark Mode was very dark, but yeah, the blue text is a bit difficult to read. Minor tweak once stuff has settled in I reckon.

Ok, so that's another glitch. My quote of bruneeps post and my subsequent response basically aren't readable for me. I'm guessing it's a Dark Mode/Light Mode thing though.

Photos?

Edit: tried a photo upload but it didn't work. Sensible to have that disabled at first though I guess.

Every other answer in a thread is dark, so grey background with blue writing

However the 'white' reply has white lettering on a white background.....

Looks nice. great work Mark & team.

Only noticed one oddity so far: when I first connected I got an authentication prompt - as if windows authentication was enabled. I clicked cancel and it went away and hasn't come back. Tested in an incognito window and it didn't appear there either.

On a personal note - I'd prefer the 'NEW' flash to only be on for new threads like before not for every time there's a new post.

Just makes things look cluttered and I don't like clutter! 😀

Thanks for the support there. It's a stressful process.

Some users may have some awful issues with lightmode and dark mode. We are aware of the issue. It's related to some users having the dark mode setting switched on in their profile settings. We are going to remove that control as it's confusing to everyone and everything. Dark mode/light mode will be controlled by you in your browser settings. If anyone is experiencing that issue (light text on white background type stuff) then go tou your preferences and untick the dark mode box.

Alot of these display issues maybe because of the dark mode setting in accounts please deactivate that setting in your Singletrack account to see how it looks, we unfortunately will be removing this setting very soon due to these issues

Posting just get to moderator approval! I'll wait to critique but could do wth a button to get back to the overview forum at the bottom of the page. Don't like how it says Adam at the moment rather than ads678, I know that'll change though.

Great work!

Contrast is a bit dodgy in places. Maybe the devs should install a Contrast Checking Extension like this one for Chrome to keep open while they're working on the colours.

All in all, liking the new look and functionality (IT AUTOMATICALLY JUMPS TO THE NEWEST UNREAD POST!!!! WOO!!!).

Would be nice to have a link to the overview page at the bottom of a thread, rather than having to scroll up or click back to get to it..

Looks like there are threads missing, eg the Donald! Trump! one.  I assume it's just a case of data being transferred to the new format?

seems like if you quote some one using the buttons at the top of the text entry box. you cannot then comment on the quoted subject.

Excellent news. Great job Team Singletrack.

I assume that there's loads of tweaks already in the pipeline but here's a small suggestion: start the dark/light colour background sequence of the posts with the dark colour to help signify where the start of the thread is. It currently is the same background as the title/thread stats bit so it blends in.

I for one really appreciate all the work that is going on behind the scenes. STW is a really imoprtant resource for me and it's great to see it improving.

EDIT - yes it is! It's taking me to the last post of threads I've read - first post of threads I've not read! 😀

So no dark mode just light mode or will it be dark by default? I disabled dark mode and I couldn't read anything in light mode.

On a Mac with Safari, it's only going across about 3/4 of the window, justified fully left, with blank space on the RHS.

There's also a strange 'P' in the bottom left corner of this text box as I type. Pressing it highlights my last para of text...

I can't post a comment in the creatine thread, so I guess the locked function is working again, but nothing to indicate it is locked.

and to agree with someone above, I don't like that every thread I haven't visited is marked as new, unless that's just because they are all newly imported and will sort itself out in time.

Jut minor grumbles though, all good otherwise.

lovely, really missed that.  great work everyone.

just on the " You are not allowed to attach files on this forum. It is possible that you have not reached the minimum required number of posts, or your user group does not have permission to attach files in this forum" message at the bottom of the text box.  is that true?  i could try it i spose but didnt want to clog the forum up at this early stage.

Yea, obviously going to the text box and hitting enter first then quoting is a workaround.  But otherwise you have to quote, copy the quote, delete it. Create a space, quote it, then type your reply.

@mark think I’d class this as “GDPR violation” rather than “glitch”, some peoples’ full names (including surname) are showing instead of usernames.

Will the direct jump to the last page of a long thread return? I now have to open the thread on page 1 then select the last page rather than just tapping the >> on the forum thread list. Clicks are good I guess? But I preferred the efficient route to the latest posts on longer threads. Is it 50 replies per page?

If I have read the last post in a thread, if I click on the thread again it takes me to the last post, but if someone makes a new post when I click on the thread it takes me to the first post.

I don't think I'm a fan of the long list of viewers at the bottom of the thread either 🤔

It might make me/others feel insecure knowing who's read the thread but hasn't replied? Validation and rejection comes into play and whilst I might be able to handle both on occasions it is information that I haven't needed for the past 20+ years.

Can I turn my visibility off?

Same here - it was jumping to last post but that seems random now. Selecting the last page from a dropdown will quickly become tiresome.

Got to repeat - the dark blue on black is really unappealing. Disabled dark mode as suggested but then the list of topics + replies alternates between white and dark, so I still have an issue reading half the post titles. Also, in white mode, the text is white on white for me, so I can't even read the other half.

Another observation (sorry!)... 😬

The opening post of a thread seems to be at the top of every one of the following pages.

Can that be turned off? Some threads are so long and so old the opening post of many long threads no longer has any relevance! 🙂

For the Like thing it seems like you need to hover over the thumb, then it pops up, then you need to move up slightly and click it?  Is that correct? (I'm not talking about the delay before it appears, just the mechanics.  It seems not as nice as the quick click on the icon in STWV2)
