You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
A cracking few hours of gravel and back lanes along the Shropshire/Powys border. Crossing Offa's dyke and a section of the Kerry Ridgeway ancient drover's road. Ride no. 25 from Jack Thurston's Lost Lanes Wales "Blue remembered hills". Epic scenery and perfect spring weather.
First evening social ride of the year with the bike club.
Awesome 20c start.
All that's left of the snow
Chilly 6c finish after the sun set
Righto. It's midweek again.
Nothing fancy, but I realised the other day I'd not been out on the SS HT for ages (still had the Mudrocker on the back!), and as well as being a low-maintenance winter-mud-plugger, it's also enormous fun to just grab for a quick blast on some techy-xc singletrack.
Weather continues to be sublime. Trails are the driest I've seen for many years; even the spots that hang onto the water/mud are dry and dusty.
10th ride in 11 days for me this morning.
Gotta get them in when the weather's this nice. 😎
1200 Meters of Golfie action and bumped into a mate I've not seen for months as he works long shifts away from home.
Seems I am starting to get a bit fitter again and all those winter slogfests were worth it.
Only one picture but I never get bored of this view.
yet another day off to head down to Tollymore with a pal for a day on the bikes:
When I got home, I still had enough battery life (and leg life) for a quick couple of laps behind the house. Fantastic bike day.
Local Bez after work
Whisper it, but the trails are getting a bit too dusty-slidy now and could do with a bit of rain 🙈
Particularly the local jump spot is a bit sketch
Had an explore at Rivington yesterday and Longridge the day before. Weather is fantastic and trails are dry.
Some totally awesome photos on these midweek and weekend riding threads. Thanks to all - it’s very inspiring.
Yesterday evening ride. Dumyat (418m peak), summited once solo, then met a bunch of mates and summited again - it was sooooooo good it was worth doing twice! 24km and 960m elevation. Riding conditions are so good I've ridden every day for the past 11 days now - my legs were complaining this morning...

Agree, I love these threads - great to see riding photos from elsewhere. Definitely inspiring. I do my best to go through and 'like' posts, but it takes so long for the thumbs up thing to work that I know I'm not 'liking' all posts. I DO like the posts though!
I'm always envious of some of the lovely hills and trails that some (most) of you post up. I'm recovering from a slightly bad back at the mo, so had a gentle pootle last night. Slowing down and enjoying the sounds of Spring at dusk - sometimes riding in the flatlands of Suffolk isn't so bad.
Easter holidays, so a rare outing for me on the club midweek ride. Luckily, that meant a trip to Woburn off-piste this week. Learned where loads of new (to me) trails are. If anything (and i'll whisper this) the place could do with a little rain to damp the dust down and give a bit more grip - some berms were a bit slippy-slidey.
It all started with a Squirrel. I was merrily swooping my way down through the trees when this furry mound of malice flashed in front of my eyes. I say 'flashed', but in fact he was so close to me, and at eye level, that I swear he went into slowmo as he crossed my path. I say this because I actually had time to spot, admire, and be slightly jealous of the size of his testicles as he sort of turned side on to me while flying past.
Distracted, I veered slight off the trail, hooked up a branch in my rear wheel, then spent the next 10 minutes cursing and wrangling with my chain and rear mech. All the time suspecting that I'd fallen into a trap laid by the Squirrel. I think I'm lucky to be alive, if I'm honest
Not many views where the good trails are here... It's more jungle tracks.
After a week locked away writing reports I decided to go on a mission to my local jungle off piste. Bloody hard work after all the rain we've had. Off camber wet rock slabs, eroded root steps and waterlogged trails that rarely see more than 10 pairs of wheels a week. At one point I lost traction on a pinch hit the handlebar with chest and snapped my Garmin mount off the bars!
Didn't take lights and just made it out before sunset.

Common issue round here too
A belated pic from Monday nights Health Ride - we paused for brief flapjack break. (One of the organisers bakes little bite size treats to keep up moral)
32 out on Monday night, the summer rush is upon us.
Staying local to avoid tourism mentalism. Amazing conditions. No, I'm not even considering removing those mudguards - it's ok, you don't have to thank me.

The trails in Belfast are starting to get slippy due to the dust. But I’m sure that won’t be a problem for much longer.
Some great pictures keep rolling in.
Good job folks.
No pics from me for the last two days as I keep forgetting to take any.
Now on 12 rides in 13 days and over 7000 meters so far this week.
Showed another STWer round the Golfie today which was really good fun.
I love seeing folks buzzing at the bottom of the steeper trails over there.
No ride pics but here's a pic of today's ride.
Day off today, had a couple of hours at Stainburn. Trails were sublime, dry, dusty, loamy. There's a small xc loop up there (as well as the 'official' red & black trails, and the off-piste cheeky stuff), much of which is usually unrideable due to water-filled bogs where the logging tracks have been, but that was great, some sinewy twisty rooty singletrack between the trees, gently flowing downhill, and all pretty much dry as a bone. Marvellous stuff.
After enjoying the prepackaged delights of the trail centres, I decided to take advantage of the dry conditions and good weather and do an old skool ride in the hills in the form of a Cowlyd/Crafnant loop.
There were mountains,
there were lakes,
there were tadpoles.
A few more trails local-ish to my mate near Frankfurt. Such a fun "flow" trail had to do it twice. My legs hate me 🙂
Absolutely stunning evening; lovely ride and a visit to ye olde village pub for food and beer on the way home 🙂 the jumps are running so quickly at the moment, it’s like being launched from a fun cannon!
Spotted what I'm pretty sure is a Buzzard feasting on something, on last nights spin through the countryside.
Evening gravel ride, was nice til I got a puncture. Currently awaiting rescue by my wife & kids 🙂 that'll teach me for riding gravel on a road bike and not bringing any tools or tubes! At least it went near a road so I didn't have to walk miles of towpath in road SPDs.
Exploring some new lanes and tracks near where I live on the western edge of the Massif Central....I don't think many bikes have ever used them before...some stunning views but boring forest tracks sadly...
Not sure if Monday morning = midweek, but here we are. 45km, XC/Trail with a couple of fun bits thrown in. Up over the tops, and returning low down by the canal/river. Another gorgeous day, before it gets a bit grey and potentially wet for the rest of the week.
Edit: is this '5 photos limit per post' a new thing? Sure I've added 6 or 7 before on the new forum without issue (albeit maybe not 10,which was my original intention!)

I’ll claim Monday as midweek.

Took a punt on the awful weather conditions yesterday and managed to get an hour with Reeksy2 at Sugarbag.
We raced the Pump track (he beat me 2:1)
Then had a long jump competition on a worn down tabletop. Erm...he won.
I won the race at the end though so it wasn't all terrible 😂
Then it pissed down just as we got back to the car.
Meanwhile Reeksy1 had a bizarre mech failure today. His coach was following and Thry both say there wasn't any warning.
Cold and windy out there, but beautiful skys.

Cheers Stu! Had an awesome morning, weather, trails and company were spot on.
Squeezed in another rare Wednesday club ride. Cool to not be riding solo and good vibes all round. Windy but fine once in the trees.
sorry, couldn't resist a little bragging rights. Technically it WAS a mid-week ride after all. 😎

It started (and nearly ended straight away), with a Squirrel. Damn thing nearly took me out as I rode along the old railway line path to my local woods. Luckily I'd slowed down as there was a dog walker coming towards me, but damn, the freaky little furball gave me a fright. Anyway, I was feeling rubbish the other night but managed to motivate myself enough to drag my fat arse out the door for an hour around what were still wonderfully dry trails, even after all the rain we'd had recently
It's Tuesday already!
Photos from today's extended gravel commutes around/through bits of north Leeds. Bit of rain yesterday has dampened the dust, without causing any lasting damage. Got caught by a quite intense 10 minute shower on the way home, which was unexpected! But, overall, another fine day's riding!
Stopped on yesterdays ride to have a look at the new as yet unopened trail at Golfie.
Looks pretty good and will be so much better than the trail it's replacing.
Shay told me it should be open in the next few weeks.
All the sections aren't joined together yet so don't try and ride it until it's finished.
I went out on the local club's e-bike only 'Turbo Tuesday' ride. Pretty sure I had my bike in Turbo mode and still couldn't keep up!
Lunch break below Lund's Tower on a Skipton run. That's April's Everest in the bag.

Golfie yesterday. 21 miles and 4400ft of up.
Local trundle from my father's today. 27 miles and 2200ft of up. Tired legs.
I had a day off form work today so made the most of the dry conditions and did a loop from Crosby Ravensworth up to High Cup Nick via the bridleway on the South side of High Cup Gill, then back down the North side.
Stop for ice cream at the Royal Oak in Appleby:
Murton Pike:
High Cup Scar:
Loaded up the Digger for a test before the Marches and Castles tour next week. Glad I persevered with keeping 3/4 of my dropper drop. After a ride of gravel, rubbish roads, mud and dirt I really would miss it on the descents. Plenty of space as well, could probably lose the frame bag, but previous use reminds me it puts the Bag into Baguette 🙂
Weather went a bit black over our house. Thankfully I had a rain jacket stashed as it was a full test of all my packed gear. Obviouslt I couldn't remember which bag it was in!
Keeping things rolling along again today and adding to my weekly climbing target.
That's April's Everest in the bag
You need to try harder dude.😉
Faux-commute this morning. 35km. Nice to get up high and see some views before heading back to my desk/screen.
As I missed the crew night ride last night, I had to go out today. Hey I don't make the rules 🙂
Little bit slippy in places, but amazing bluebells and garlic. And a cheeky beer in the sunshine to finish...
35 miles today, 2 and a bit hours riding, 30 mins chilling with a coffee and cake at the cafe watching the world go by.
Off on the Marches and Castles Tour tomorrow. Forecast looks - dare I say it - a bit warm esp Day 2 which Strava tells me is 90km and 1800m of climbing with some proper 10%-12% climbs. 12 in total, 3 look pretty chewy. Days 1,3 and 4 are closer to 1100m and 70km so Day 2 is defo the big one. Note to self- do not get mullered in the Dragon Hotel on Wednesday night!
Digger is good to go. Extremely happy to have 11-51 11 speed hack (thanks STW for that!) and the use of the dropper. Taken loads of stuff out of packs, but it's still quite a load.
Shall try and post some pics if I can make the phone talk to the forum and/or I haven't melted!
Cross Fell bivi tonight. Just call me Fabio.

Purbecks yesterday, Puddletown today.

Ride abandoned. I forgot my gloves and had a go at riding without. Not a chance, I'm just too sweaty, hands squirming around on the grips on the climbs and descents just feels horrible.
A ride down to Hindhead today. Some nice woodland dirt singletrack.
On one snack stop, I spotted a lizard but he was a bit camera shy.
Mrsstu's day off today so I headed to Golfie with her to help set up her new EXT shock.
Got it working pretty good with the standard link but will be trying a Cascade link on her next ride.
Finished my monthly ascent target just short of a nice round number.🙄
