Ive put myself down for this, does any one know what to expect or actually done it?
Good day out. Done a few of these now, good atmosphere, rigid hardtail my personal bike of choice....approx 5000ft climb..3 major hills basically, cracking descent into shoreham....then flat out along seafront for beer and medals.
btw..the downs link can be boring..always best to form/join a peleton and smash out the miles.
Thanks, that sounds great.....I’m slightly daunted as I’ve never done a big ride before but keep myself fit.
Have you any pointers or advice you could offer ,I’ve a Cotic Soul so at least that fits your hard tail criteria !
I've done this and it's a good day out. Unless you want some hold ups I'd aim to start early and a hardtail is perfect. The downlink does really go on and gets a bit tedious, then the climb at the end is a bit of a wall but I'd do it again.
If you haven't done any big rides before or long days in the saddle, eat regularly and pace yourself. Better to save yourself for the climb at the end and finish strongly. Enjoy!
Good padded shorts and some kind of cream for your ringpiece.

Hard tail, skinny tyres blown up hard. It's a fast ride and about 30 to 40 mile of tow path and other bits and bobs plus a few climbs. Worse one is torretts before the big down hill into Brighton. When you see the ****er you will start swearing if you wonder about the name.
It's a great day out and it is a easy ride. 75 miles in total i recall. Start as early as possible if you are going for a fast one.
