Righty-ho,

At the great personal expense of my lovely wife (she had to lend me the cash) I’ve secured a copy of the film for a screening in The Church Inn, Prestwich on a yet to be finalised Friday Evening next September.

The room capacity is 40. Tickets will be somewhere between £5 and £7.50 each depending on how enthusiastic the response to this thread is ?

If we oversubscribe or the pub gets sold we’ll find another venue, but we have a contingency.

Once costs are covered any money left will be donated to charity.

The film is about an hour long IIRC so there will be time for a beer and pie frenzy afterwards.

I'm in too.

I would invite the lovely Mrs B but she finds mountain bikes boring...

She doesn't even like pies.

Or beer...

My wife did ask “How long do I have to watch a film about pushbikes for?”

Once reassured that it was only about an hour she was much happier as that leaves at least 2 hours of quality boozing time. I’m not sure that she is so enthusiastic about the pies either.

Women are from Venus and men are from [s]Mars[/s] Greggs, via the LBS and the pub.

Me and edhornby.

Edit - would you like the money at the BMXing on Monday so you're not out of pocket for longer than necessary?

In please. It involves drinking and no physical exertion which suits me.

The organiser needs to give an intro speech though

I'm in. My misses would also like to join us. She likes beer and pies. She likes to ride to, as long as there are no hills to climb.

No tickets have been sold or allocated yet, but those on this thread will have first refusal. This exercise was just to gauge interest so that we could think about the venue size, pricing, overhead recovery and so on.

I’ve quite missed all the behind the scenes logistics of putting on an event. This one cost £100 (of someone else’s money 😉 ). The first HTN had me, Jason and Vince sweating over £17,000 and we didn’t have a backer!

I reckon we try to recreate the feel of HTN by giving everyone a bucket of mud to wear over their silly grins from having far, far too much fun for the cost.

Update

Going to sort the details out with the pub.

Hopefully it will become a movie, pies, beer, fancy trousers and Binners' artwork party night.

Update.

Still not got a date yet, but if you want to go on the mailing list and have first dibs at getting a ticket (there will only be 40) please drop me an email.

Put MTB Movie in the subject header, tell me how many tickets you want and give me your real name. Price will be £5.

Email is in profile.

Ciao for now.

Updated update.

Saturday August 6th.

8:00pm

Church Inn, Prestwich.

Places for the film are limited to 40, although there is nothing to stop you from coming to the pub anyway as it is really rather nice.

Email me if you want adding to the list.
