You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Really enjoyed reading that as it resonated with me. Just had my 65th birthday I also feel at my age and stage in life I want some luxury after a day on the bike. So I looked at the website of the tour company and that's when it all came crashing down 🙄 I should have known it would be Swiss Francs, in 2007 we briefly for a day rode in Switzerland I still remember the cost of things was eye watering then. Also trying to get my bike accepted at Geneva Airport for the return flight was akin to paying a ransom! The really stern woman on check in wanted payment in Swiss Francs I never had any so she cleared me out of Euros then started on my Sterling! Going out from Bristol I didn't get charged a penny 🙄
Anyhow back to the aforementioned the week featured in the mag costs £2500!!!!Plus we'd have to get to Chamonix on top of that. We were supposed to be riding in Lake Garda last Summer but we know what happened with that 🙄 I could actually do 2 trips like that with cash to spare so unfortunately I know where my money will be going.
In 2019 I bikepacked in the Alps. Saw 2 or 3 groups who where ebike trekking, staying in refuges overnight and carrying kit and spare batteries with them. They where self guided I believe. Would need to be a bit careful about route choice to avoid excess hike a bike, but I think I would enjoy it when I finally get an ebike.
@tonto - hike-a-bike with an e-bike and spare battery!!!!
You need to take The Hulk or Eddie "The Beast" Hall with you. 🙂 🙂
