Two Wheels in Stourbridge are a good bunch, but grumpy at times but good nonetheless.
Fred Williams in Wolvo are good too, very road orientated but good for that.
John Atkins in Leam are not a bad place either.
Monsterbike in Inverness.
great advice, after sales, excellent mechanics and all round top blokes.
Decent cup of tea too.
Also 5 minute walk from my house which helps when you need to be a dick and borrow a spanner.
Specialized Concept Store - Bristol (Certini)
Giant Store - Bristol
@benp1 - great shop - excellent service & workshop, good stock(mainly road&commuter understandably) & some very lovely bikes. Very helpful to me for nearly 10 years!
A lot of triathlon stuff too.
Nevis Cycles are a great bunch of guys. Very helpful
Another vote for the Spesh concept store in Harrogate.
Always had great service from Stif too.
Another shout for 18bikes in Hope.
Cyclecare in High Wycombe - done many, many good things for me over the years.
My first new bike came from
50yrs ago(before the current owner/manager was born!) The shop was "the" place to buy bikes in town(Dumfries). All my family bought bikes and motorbikes from them. They now have quite a bit of competition from new shops in town, Dalbeattie, Castle Douglas, Newton Stewart and The Breakpad @ Kirroughtree not to mention shops in nearby Carlisle and the dreaded Internet.
I also consider Biketreks and KMB as "local". When Trekster Jnr was into bmx we frequented the first KMB shop.
My mate Les and I used to bike in the Lakes a fair bit and met Andy frommBiketreks when he started in his first shop(house) We would go down and ride with him on a Thursday meeting and riding with such mtb legends such as Mike Bonny and Chris Chance of Fat Chance bike fame. Those were the days 😆
So G&G, Biketreks, KMB and Ae cafe and bike shop are my main LBS. MPG cycles in Dalbeattie if I'm passing through. I've known Gareth @ Velocycles, Castle Douglas since he was a nipper and would certainly visit and recommend his shop.
Nearly forgot Scotby Cycles in Carlisle. I do get about a bit but have over 30yrs of biking experience 😯
ROA Wallingford... Helpful Staff & Great Coffee
Blazing Saddles in Hebden Bridge, flooded at Xmas, but still going strong.
Sprockets in Kilmarnock, brill guys and they are building a massive new store right now too !
Bike City of Wells
York Cycleworks are always spot on...
Condor cycles
Sigma sport
Giro in Esher (cafe/shop)
Look mum no hands (cafe/shop)
Another vote for Banjo Bikes in Newbury
Also use Bertie Maffoons in Marlborough & Mike's Bikes in Portishead
I'd second Soanes in East Devon
Liphook Cycles in ... well Liphook 😀
Proper old school bike shop, really knowledgeable staff, Tony is a top bloke who is happy to order bits and pieces and is always up for a chat! His shop is like an aladdins cave, but he knows where everything is! He also is very active in the local race scene, EVERY week in the summer he helps run our local evening 10, either starting or doing timing!
He does mountain bikes but for roadie stuff it is the real deal!
I make this 3 votes for tamed earth in hindhead...
Condor - London Village
Noah's Ark - Brimscombe/Stroud
Bike Scene in Guisborough. Been using them for 20 odd years even though I live 50 mins away! Says a lot.
There are only two bike shops I like and neither are that local;
Bad ass bikes in (yes still) deepest Somerset and skyline cycles in glyncorrwg, just a very nice bunch of people with a shop full of cool shit.
Ride On in Rawtenstall gets my vote as well
Back-on-track in Malvern, Paul's always helpful and very knowledgeable be it road or mountain bike.
melksham cycle centre.
have nothing but great things to say about them.
1. they have let me buy bikes from them interest free (paying them back fortnightly) whilst being unemployed. and letting me have the bike to ride whilst doing so.
2. letting me have free energy bars (i have offered to pay for then).
3. the manager dave has bought me lunch on more than one occasion and i don't even work there.
4. all the guys are very helpful to people, know their stuff, but aren't in the least bit pushy.
bloody great guys and store 😀
Offcamber Blandford Dorset Link
And
Charlie the bikemonger Swanage Dorset
The Trailhead in Shrewsbury. Packed to the rafters with quality stock & staff that know what they're talking about.
Sounds a little sad (as they are chains) but in Manchester I can only recommend Cycle Surgery or Evans Chill factor based on experience.
Seems to be quite a large selection of decent LBS's. Despite my utter hilariousness earlier i'd like offer a couple serious suggestions.

County Antrim Cycles. Gary's a top lad (and a demon on a trials bike). Often cheery, always cheap and does a great job despite being ginger (it's ok - he wont be reading).
CRC also happen to be my LBS. I'll not put them in bold (they get enough publicity) but they've always treated me well when i call in, with decent discount (without asking!) and often free tools and other stuff. Strangely it takes them an age when i order online - despite being only 10 mins drive away.
Cyclecare in High Wycombe - done many, many good things for me over the years.
I forget the name of the manager, but he was kind enough to loan me his workshop (along with an ex-employee) several years back. That's a big plus in my book. 🙂
Butterworth's in Sheffield. Proper old school bike shop (I wish I had a photo of the interior to demonstrate) that really shouldn't still be in business. Cheap as chips and very friendly staff.
