I always like to kick off my entry into a new forum with a potentially daft question so here goes….
I got a new bike recently (Orbea Occam but its not a brand specific question) and it has some protective bits on the underside of the chain stay that extends under bottom and slightly up the bottom tube. I am sure you know the one I mean, its fairly standard stuff, probably has a name but I don’t know it. Anyway, this is fixed flush to the frame in most places apart from on one side it is coming away and there is a slight gap. I had a little peek in and it does not appear to be connected in any way other than it looks like it might have been glued. So, my question is… is this bit normally just glued on? If so, what tip of glue is it? Its currently a nice place to collect mud samples!
The down tube protection Yep - normally glued on. But with the occam I think they use posh double sided tape type stuff. It's also pretty normal for it to slowly peel off on one side. It's a regular question that comes up on the occam FB group. People use a range of products to stick it back down from more double sided tape through to gripfill and no nails 😂.
I'll be stuffing some sugru in the gap in mine when I have some spare at some point.

Since we are discussing the protection over the taint surely it's a gusset? Or inseam if going commando?
