I would like to say a big thank you to the riders who helped me out at Ae Forrest on Sunday 10th July. After coming off the trail and slicing my knee open, bandages and swabs where a big help and a much cleaner replacement for my shirt bandage. Thanks for taking my bike off the trail and calling the ambulance. Cutting your first visit to Ae short to get a phone signal.
The guys who gave me a lift down the fire road in there Land Rover Discovery to café. This unfortunately didn't stop the midgies having a good feed on me, the smell of blood I guess.
After a short drive in the ambulance to Dumfries and Galloway Hospital and a couple of nights stay with a clean out of the knee and repair to the IT tendon, the waiting game starts until I can get back on the trusty stead. Mental note, remember next time to pay more attention to where you’re going and possibly buy some knee pads.
First aid kits aren't for leeving at home.
Again a big thank you to everyone who helped.
A nice way to spend your birthday, almost.
Gavin
