Has anyone used these new low friction shock bush kits?
What kind of life do you get out of them?
Do you need a special tool to get the replacement bushings in and out?
Seems ok so far. Sockets and vice work for pressing out old bushing, new ones press in by hand.
I used a cheap removal tool from eBay and the new one pushed in by hand.Too early to comment on durability.
I figured they would push in by hand, what about removal of these ones?
Pull out by hand 🙂
cool, I'm gonna give them a try.
I've got a set in my dh bike, tbh I can't tell any difference between these or Jtech's igus bushings or standard bushings... But these are the easiest to fit, and they look cool.
Yeah I cannot say I have ever been unhappy with the ease of movement of any previous bush design I have used, so I am not attracted by the "low friction". Its the easy fitting that appeals, one less tool to bring on tour.
Oh I should probably add that I basically never ride the bloomin thing so I can't comment much on longevity- they have lasted a very long time, and about 5 rides.
Well my tr450 is a 2011, its done about 8 weeks of dh holidays morzine and malaga, probs another 20 days of uplift and still on the original bushes. Last trip I noticed that the lower bush had a teeny amount of play. I'd be happy with half that performance..
Looks like a couple of Igus bushes, pretty standard stuff, not sure £18 per eye is stunning VFM really... Still its your money.
I put needle bearing shock mounts on my shock and it made a fair bit of difference.
