Rather absent over the last few years, but as they say... absence makes the heart grow fonder.
I've missed these wide bars.
I was 15 when I saved all my money from my paper round and pub job to buy a Santa Cruz blur (blue powder coated jobby). Now I'm back on Santa ... geometry is nailed, weighs as much my noodley hardtail and looks to die for. Maiden ride tonight!
Built by lovely Matt at 18Bikes

Noice.
I love your church too.
I think you might be a touch under-biked for the unrelenting technicality that is Sherwood forest this weekend!
I am tempted to fit a 11-27t Cassette and some tri bars for Sherwood pines this weekend.... but then it's dropper on and some proper tyres for life in the Peaks.
The bike looks lovely. Saddle looks a bit like an instrument of torture though!
Very very nice. A little bit green here. Enjoy!!!
I really loved my LT, last of the 26" Blurs, then I conceded I'd got one too small but it was a hell of a bike, another contender there if I wanted an XC bike again, wonder if it will appear on the circuit or just be a privateer bike.
Is that the new blur? Looks nice other than why the insanely long seat tube? Surely that could be at least 2 inches shorter?
Really nice looking bike ..hope you have a lot of fun !
Were the Maxxis Aspens your choice of tyre ?
Cool.. Am quite disturbed by the lack of dropper post though... doesn't every new bike have to... ?

it's called "stand over" , modern geom innit, makes the frame lighter too. win win.
cracking looking bike
Very nice! Enjoy.
For the frames sake I hope you have a massive amount of seat post inserted into that seat tube!
What do SC say is minimum for the frame I wonder?
Nice bike though bud! 😃
Tip tip: Needs pedals, please though, not blue!
Edit :ignore drunk
Just taken a closer look at the seat tube, and I can see what Poop is talking about. It’s quite a long way from TT to top of ST, and you want a good bit (probably 100mm or so usually) of seatpost below the TT to avoid frame damage. Difficult to say but it looks like even with a full 410 post you could be very close to the wind. I’d also double check this with SC manual rather than risk hurting a new and lovely bike accidentally.
Well there's no rider weight limit for the new Highball, so I wonder if this is the same?
Would love a demo to see the difference between my Hightower. Gis a go mister! 🙂
Seat height/post length looks fine to me...frame appears to stop halfway up what looks like the seatpost. Same as my bike (not a SC,thankfully) and it is all fine.
Looks a good steed, enjoy that!
Dick Barton ..your post seems to be a little contradictory...
First of all knocking the fact that it's a Santa Cruz ..then saying that it looks like a good bike ..
Make your mind up 😉
It’s a definite yes from me
That looks lovely! Surprised they are available so quickly after the launch was announced.
Being super critical I’m not sure about the blue grips and saddle accents. Spoils the murdered out look. And the cables and hoses could do with a trim at the front. But that is being super critical. It looks fast and everything in the right proportions.
Now go and get it dirty!
