What do you do with the internal cables for a dropper post when you want to use a regular seatpost (eg you need to send your dropper in for service but want to carry on riding...)

I'm assuming/hoping that you don't need to remove the cables & levers and there's some easy method of fishing the cable out of the seattube when you want to put the dropper back on...

(Disclaimer: the only internally routed dropper I've had in the past have been Reverbs so I've let my LBS sort it out as I don't mess with hydraulics...)

Pull the cable through a bit so it doesn't foul on the normal post, then try to remember not to use the lever?

Most frames should allow you to feed the cable through either way to disconnect the post without having to remove the whole thing, then for it to not get caught on the post.

The only issue would then be the cable rattling and/or a floppy lever.

[STW Mode]Just use one of your other mtbs while the seatpost from this one is being serviced[/STW mode]

I'd use it as an excuse to fit a new cable when the post comes back. Nobody changes cables frequently enough on bicycles.

i do this on my HT regularly, taking the dropper out and putting in a regular post for bikepacking etc. I have saddles in the right position on each post so it is a 20 second max job to swop.

yet another one of the benefits of an AXS Reverb... 🙂
