Nope, you will be fine, crack on. You wont notice the difference, other than taking a moment longer to line the wheel up.

Google translation hasn't helped.

What I think you are asking is will it fit, yes it will if it has the same spacing. Only you will know if you have the skills to ride it or not. 😏

You can use a normal hub in a torque cap fork. It'll just be a bit more of a faff to put in because Torque Cap is such a stupid design.

Really? I think they're great

I think the idea of torque caps is sound, almost as good as using 20mm.  Using a hub without torque caps is fine but would piss me off if I took the front wheel out more than very occasionally

I dunt get the problem, they locate the wheel easier than normal hubs ime

Except they make putting normal hubs (i.e 99% of hubs) in harder than necessary. You two are the first people I've come across that actually like the bloody system!

You can buy Hope hub and just change end caps to torque. Job done, no sweat...

Cheers!

You can get Torque caps for a lot of hubs these days and like others I do like the system, it's a minimal weight gain (if anything) and it should in theory be stiffer so why not have it? Yes if you have a wheel that doesn't have them it is a little annoying, but overall I am a fan. Think it's just a shame more people haven't taken it up, I think the new EXT fork might, but otherwise no other takers so far.

Fun fact!

The Novatec torque cap adapters I bought from Chain Reaction for less than £2 went on my DT350 hubs and worked brilliantly 🙂

49p at the moment haha. These use rubber o rings and slide over your existing end caps.

I don't mind the system either but it's a pita when you don't have the caps and take the wheel out a fair bit. I got a set of these Newman adaptors for the other halfs bike and they work a treat.

I assume this is only an issue with Rockshox forks, my Fox 34's work fine with a standard 15mm axle.

I still think 20mm axles were fine so it feels a bit like Rockshox are fixing an issue that never needed to exist in the first place.

Had them on a pair of Hunt Trail wide. They just introduced friction on my 2018 compatible Revs so I took em out

I have them on my Hope Pro4 and am a fan.

Stiffens up the front axle and wheel seating way easier what’s not to like ....

Much as you'd like to imply Fox should be applauded for sticking with the "old" standard.

Let's not forget it was their tie-up with Shimano that foisted 15mm on us in the first place.

If it wasn't for them we'd all still be riding round on stiffer and lighter 20mm axles.

Answer -

At the time it was an extra 30 quid they were fleecing off you, but at 49p, kind of suggests they arent something that's needed.

Tongue caps? sounds painful!

I agree that a fork designed to take them is a PITA when the hubs don't have them fitted - until recently I thought it was just incompetence that was making it so awkward putting the front wheel into my Whyte!

I'm guessing those novatec ones at crc/wiggle fit over most normal endcaps so just make install easier and no stiffening qualities, only 49p now.

A torque cap fork without the end caps is noticeably more flexy and less precise. When I swapped a wheel I always made sure to swap the torque caps too.

@greeny30

I think it's mostly the easy location thing... I've got a set of those on some DT350 hubs and also had proper caps, I've noticed no difference in "stiffness".

I'd go as far as saying putting slightly more air in a soft tyre made more of a difference in feel.

I think this kind of sums up this whole debate - "Designed to function with Novatec's D711 front hubs, this torque cap the stiffness of your bike's fork and front wheel to give you higher control during your race."

I'd never heard of torque caps (or tongue caps) until this thread.
