My collection of tech T-shirts is getting a bit tatty so am looking for some replacements. Any suggestions to give me some personal suggestions rather than wade through loads of google lists? Main criteria are must be light, wick very well and not look too offensive (I realise that’s pretty subjective)

I've got a Fjern andas which I've been wearing a lot, wicks well, stays fresh.  Reasonably priced.

Montane Dart does the job for me, comes in various weight options and seems to be put together OK.

Or get yourself down to TK Maxx and see what's on offer.

I bought some plain very thin very lightweight t shirts from Mountain warehouse £10 each or fluro yellow for £7, for cycle commuting in this hot weather.

I'm still wearing some Ron Hill long sleevers which I got from Sportspursuit for not much, must be 12+ years back. They just keep doing it well.

Timely post, I'm definitely needing new kit - uppers and lowers. All my stuff fits me but I'm cooking in it all.

T-shirts, trousers and even underwear...

The Fjern ones off SP are fine, but my favourites are Marmot Transporter. I'm somewhat concerned that the seem to be disappearing from the range - might have to get a couple before they're gone.

ION . I have about 30 of them, cos they come up on SportPursuit quite often. Perfect riding apparel

I’ve got a few YT Drirelease T shirts and they’re really nice for riding in. They feel light and soft, I’m a hot, sweaty guy and they’re working well for me.

i also like supporting companies that put money back into the bike industry rather than ones that are outside the industry as I like my money going back into the sport I love.

Go Outdoors is packed with stuff like this. So is Decathlon and TK Maxx.

I just buy Nike and asics running tops off Vinted. If you select “new without tags” you’ll get something in good condition for £10 or £15.

I just get the Kiprun running tees from Decathlon. They still have a longer cut at the back to cover any builders bum situations, feel nice and light and seem to wick well, and they're only about £9 each.

I like the universal colours merino t shirts if they are ever on sale. Likewise the Rapha tech t shirts are good if they are reduced. Neither get too stinky.

I just buy whatever is cheap (in a design I like) on Sportpursuit. Have a couple of Rivelo & ION ones from there and they seem good but haven't worn them much to comment on longevity. The Yaw ones look very cheap at the moment to so might be worth a punt.

Slightly OT, but what about Tech Polos? t-shirts are fine for hot sweaty gym work, but walking/climbing/riding outdoors at this time of year I want a collar to keep my neck covered.

They seem a bit thin on the ground in comparison…?

Possibly worth looking at Golfing tops? They're essentially Tech Polo's but maybe a bit smart-casual looking for MTB

Worth looking at Uniqlo.  The Dry-Ex stuff is super lightweight. I've got a couple of t shirts and a polo shirt.

https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/men/sport-utility-wear?lineup=37397-2

the lack any bike specific features (longer at back than front) but good quality and value.

I was going to say anything BUT Rapha tech.  Mine gives me horrific joggers nipple, the like I’ve not experienced since crappy 80’s school sports wear

I wish I could find more tech tees like my Nukeproof dri-release one. It's such a nice fit and it has longer sleeves than a typical t-shirt and I can't find any that have this fit. Suggestions welcome.

Fox have a pretty good range for this sort of thing, in all weights from "barely there" to "pretty much just a slightly techy fabric tshirt that feels like a tsthirt". They can be ridiculously expensive but they're pretty much always on sale somewhere.

The best value riding T-shirts I've ever bought have been the Royal ones that look and feel like normal T's. Years of wearing and washing and while faded a bit, still the same shape, no holes and not smelly. I bought them in the sale but even at full price they would have worked out cheap.

Hopefully the Nukeproof stuff will be available again now someone is making bikes.

what about Tech Polos?

Might not be the trendiest brand, but these Regatta polos are so light and comfortable (and cheap!) I bought a few from SportPursuit for hot days at work - they are on sale their site now Regatta
