Hi,
Just a about to take the lowers off my forks and give them a clean but can't remember the oil volume for the lower legs. They are the 2010 float r 36, not the FIT ones
Ta!
Just got a set in the stand, 25ml in each lower leg.
errr... sorry to question an expert Mr Loco, aren't the 2010 Float R's Open Bath? (aka non-fit 32 style, meaning once you drop the legs off you have to drain the cart and refill with the full 155mm)
I know the older r's were a enclosed damper (I run a 2008 set) but I thought they changed it for 2010.
It supposed to be the Fox 'green' 10wt if you were wondering too 🙂
If they're open bath it 155ml in the damper side and 25ml in spring side, again fox green 10wt. 😳
The ones I had in the stand are FIT rc2 s so had that in my brain doh!
Hadn't realised they were open bath, can you just slide the seals up like on 2010 FIT forks to clean and lube the foam rings?
You can lever the seals up and clean, but I wouldn't recommend it as you've got a fair chance of damaging the seal and/or stantions if you slip with your screwdriver/lever. Best to invert the bike and take the lowers off then you can get to all of the seal and take the foam rings off to properly clean them.
Have a look at Foxy's guide, they're 32's but the priciple is the same apart from the bottom nut being a different size on the damper side below:

My 09 Floats (when changing travel)- I just angled the forks upwards, pulled off the lowers- cleaned etc then refitted with 25ml in each leg added at the bottom.
