Hi all,
Trying to source some bearings.
11mm inner 19mm outer 7mm wide.
My evil has eaten a set of 6 in just 10 weeks of ownership.
Any ideas where I can get these reasonably priced as I'm sure any bike supplier has a huge Mark up?
I can't find them easily with google
I'd try emailing evil and or the shop you got it from, 10 weeks suggests something amiss unless you're doing a lot of mileage in those (given out would have been January in guessing not.
Are all the pivot bolts tight? Mine needed tightening after each of the first few rides (in the middle of the first of I recall) but settled down after that and are now fine.
Here anyway - the £55 per full set from evil doesn't look so bad...

10 weeks seems a bit nuts, unless your riding everyday maybe? My current bikes bearings haven't needed changing yet and its 18 months old, riding 4-8 hours a week mostly, though its done a week in Scotland too and a few little multi day trips.
Online bearing shop should have them? Though I guess maybe not if its an unusual size?
Check the spacers mine were in the wrong way around and there wasn't a hint of grease in the bearings either...
11mm sounds oddball
10 x 19 x 7 is a boggo standard off the shelf jobby you can buy for 2 quid
Kinetic bikes .
Owning an evil I'd recommend using kinetic bearings own bearings as you may find your doing them again shortly if not .the stock bearings they use ain't great
People are quite happy to buy 10 bearings for 15 pounds on eBay but think nothing of spending a fortune on Carbon bars
Evil use Enduro Max bearings, I've found them to be great for UK riding. Typically get 6 months from mine.
If yours have gone in 10 weeks, sounds like you've either managed to wash the grease out - do you use a pressure washer, or get close up to the bearings with a hose? They're not that well protected, so can easily wash the grease out.
Is it all of the bearings that have gone? Or just a few? If so - which?
Evil's prices for the bearings were cheaper than my LBS could get them for, so personally, I'd get them from Evil direct.
It's three of the six little.ones are completely seized. 2 others feel slightly gritty too.
It's had some.winter use and a bath using soapy water from a sponge periodically through the winter, but never pressure washed it.
Cheers for replies so far. Kinetic bikes want £12 each. That's £72 for six little bearings, way more than im willing to pay.
Bearings this size should be £3 a pop and I wouldn't mind replacing them 4 times a year at that price. It seems like these are a bespoke size manufactured for Evil?
way more than im willing to pay
It's tricky, isn't it - it's a £2k+ frame and yet people resent spending more than £30 on the a vital component that is key to how the suspension works.
I have an Evil following - I'd expect to pay £50 to £100 for replacement bearings. I just bought 4 bearings for a hope hub and they were £35.
I'm not saying you're wrong, just that setting an arbitrary figure for the price you'll pay for bearings after you've bought the frame seems an odd approach.
My Evil bearings have been fine for year and 1000 miles but it's not really relevant to your experience, I guess.
