I am looking at buying a Tech 4 X2 brake. I ride with the front brake on my left. From what I can see the hoses are a uniform 1600mm, meaning I will have to cut the hose.

Any thoughts on how easy it is? I have looked at the Hope video, its easy until he starts opening up the brake caliper.....

Should be able to cut with a fresh Stanley blade (if not braid) at the lever end. Then new washer and bolt it back together. The olive might need changed too. Will probably then need a bleed. Not sure what video you watched but not sure why the calliper was being touched?

Cheers I meant the brake lever.
I am not confident about bleeding brakes, though.

You need a bike shop if your not confident in doing a bleed yourself

I recently did this

It's not too hard

If you are careful and don't let any fluid drain out all you need to do is follow that video

If you have someone to help, its a lot easier.

It can be a bit messy, so do it outside/ have lots of rags

Dot 5.1 fluid can be bought from Halfords

The olives that come with it make it easy

Just make sure you get what order they go with the copper washer b4 you start
