On the ITV4 show, there is a lovely overhead shot of the peleton climbing up a very twisty green ridge. But I cannot find out which climb it is. I think it was pre-alps or just early in the alps.
Cheers

Saw that too, looks ace.
But sorry, no idea where.
I'm guessing you mean the one right at the start of http://www.itv.com/tourdefrance/features/the-final-itv-montage-for-a-historic-2012-tour-de-france/
I don't know where it is either, I think your guess is correct.
I think it was the Col du Grand Columbier in the Jura mountains.
Yes saw that and thought Jura.....beautiful
I thought this was rather a fine shot of it: http://www.svelo.eu/post.php?id=1027
It was Grand Colombier. Stage 10, Voeckler won. Also used in the Criterium du Dauphine this year. The video from the helicopter is at about 1:06 - ITV4 highlights.
I rode the Grand Columbier on race day.
Really tough but fantastic atmosphere. The initial twisty parts were the hardest with small sections up to 15%.
Three of our group made it to the top but another two were stopped by the police as they had run out of time.
The descent was chaotic with campervans ,cars, cyclists and walkers all on the narrow roads.
Thank you all! I knew STW would know!
