Why do I find Cadel Evans so irritating? I have absolutely no reason!

Why are people saying that Evans has won the tour ??

With a stage tomorrow, & Andy Schleck 1min 34sec behind ??

At what point does the possibility of AS gaining over a minute on a flat stage when the sprinters teams are going flat out for the stage win begin to seen a little unlikely to you?

As I said in another thread, every year at this time someone new to watching the Tour pops up with this question...

Gary_C - tradition dictates that the leaders don't really race on the last day of the tour. They spend some time sipping champagne and posing for photos and then do a bit of cycling on the side. That said if Evans had to retire through injury he wouldn't win. The competiton for the sprinters green jersey is still on tomorrow though.

Crikey - it's not inconceivable that a team going for it right from the start could make up a couple of seconds, that's what I was getting at in my thread. I am not new to watching the tour and it was a question that had been mentioned many times during commentary.

To make up 1 minute and 30 odd seconds would never happen though.

It's all been put to bed now that Evans opened a case of whoopass onthe Schlecks.

Crikey - you pompous prick. You are exactly the reason why many people are put off the sport of road cycling, seeing it as an exclusive past time. What a w**k*r

Ok, its usually people new to watching. Apart from the traditional side of things, it is virtually impossible for any one team to gain any time, not to mention that said team would get every single break chased down for the next 10 years for taking the piss. It's just not the done thing.

Crikey - on the suject of your neck - how did those stretches and exercises work out for you?

Er... I actually did them quite religiously, and got a fair amount of relief, but then slept and it felt worse. It's a tricky one; I can improve it by stretching, but after sleeping its always bad.
Think I'm heading for a diagnosis of arthritis at some point.

Hmm - Could be that one of your joints between your spine and a rib is not moving very well.

Look up deep neck flexor exercises and do some of them - see if they make any difference.

No bother.

Even if it is early arthritis those exercises are what you would be given for that too.

Right people - you can have your thread back now.

Here's what i think'll happen.

Somewhere on the road to Paris, Andy's big brother in the guise of passing the Moet to Cuddles, accidentally ****s the antipodean charmer. In a moment of confusion, Andy charges off up the road and secures the seconds he needs to take the win.

Sound far fetched?

How about if the TdF commissaires then get together and decide Andy was complicit, so they DQ him and Frank. Evans doesn't recover in time to make the arbitrary cutoff and is eliminated. Who wins?

Suddenly it looks even possible, no?
