I dont think dull is a word to describe evans after the last two days..?!?!

what he did yesterday was incredible, but he still managed to make it look like he was a nodder doing his commute through Milton Keynes

Evans to win, he's really losing his wheelsucker tag for me now

Anyone saying this now is a seasonal armchair critic. Time to watch races other than Le Tour.

World Champs 2009? Fleche 2010? His Giro stage win 2010? Master of the attack, the wheelsucking was due to not being able to attack, not choosing to.

Imagine you were in the same position. Just because you can't attack, is it fair that people say you choose not to?

Jens Voigt can't fit his suitcase of courage in the overhead compartment.

And just so we're clear, a wheelsucker is someone who does little work in the hope of gains later. It's what all the angry armwaving in breakaways is about.

i want to do a descent that goes on for 50km

All you have to do is ride to the top of the Galibier.

Yes, sorry - for me he lost it when he won the world championship, but I think after the last couple of days I don't think anyone could level it at him. That's what I was trying to say.

Or get someone to drive you up. You can then race them back to Bourg D'oisans 🙂

Surely Tommy's team can pull some of this back now it's on straighter roads? Hoping the front group will also sit up a bit when Cadel's group catches them.

I love the architecture of the roads, just how much effort went into designing and planning and building them. Amazing.

No, not normally. You can't see much in the ones with the slats on the side either.

Shame Bert hasn't been able to pull more out of Andy, but I guess he'll try again on the Alp..

Good stuff this.

Apparently Cav is up with Voeckler, so no worries about time cut offs as of yet.

The tunnels also seriously confused my satnav. Last year my Garmin thought I was going in a different direction when I got out of the tunnel and the gorge area and when it finally worked out where I was the indicated speed went up to 1358mph! Mach 2 in an elderly Toyota Carina was quite exciting!

And they're back together....

Cadel has to attack on the Alpe, IMO.

No - he just has to make sure Andy and Frank don't get away (can allow Frank almost a minute having said that). If the group finishes together at the top, Cadel really has got it sewn up!

You reckon he can take a minute off Andy S in the TT?

Yes, yes, yes - I said he could do it. Must have almost a km to sit in and recover before it kicks up again 🙄

its roughly a 25 mile TT, a minute will be hard to put into any of the top boys

On current form, yes (doubtless AS is a better TTer than he's been, but Cadel appears to be in superb form for him).

ITV should go for ad break at more inopportune times. Having a break now is the equivalent to when they missed at England goal.

Doing a Beltran - I assumed meant this

Lance 2003

i.e. kicking so hard you drop most of your team too

They missed Andy attacking yesterday too. I've switched to Harman/Kelly.

Wow, Landis is pulling off an incredible solo break through the mountains to restore his fortunes in the Tour, no one can live with this pace......

......anyone else sensing deja duvet?

Great TV but if it looks extraordinary then it probably is (sadly).

from the Guardian live blog

A protester dressed in medical scrubs, holding a pretend syringe or blood-bag sprints alongside and administers an impromptu "blood transfusion", getting a punch in the face from the Spaniard for his troubles.

lol
