you can say what you like about cav, but he's a bloody classy sprinter - left em for dead!

What was that song at the end of the ITV coverage?

Only 11 points behind...

If only Cav had contested a few more intermediate sprints over the course of the race, he might have been in Green. (Why doesn't he seem to bother?)

CONTADOR!!!!

Excellent. He deserved it. And Schleck was a more than worthy adversary. Almost a shame they couldn't both win it really. Hope Schleck goes on to win in the future, because he surely deserves to. The pair of them were simply a class above the rest.

Cavendish was equally a class above in the sprints. Well done to him.

Hope Wiggins can come back and have a better year next year. As for Lance; should've quit while you were ahead mate. Fair play for giving it a go though. Massive respect to all the riders in the Tour, for giving us such a great spectacle. And fingers crossed, a drug free Tour (hope I haven't jinxed that)!

And above all, well done France! You may have given the World such things as maggoty cheese, rubbish cars and the abomination that is Jordy, but no other nation on Earth puts on such a great annual sporting spectacle. Chappeau indeed.

Joan D'Arc, Napoleon Bonaparte, Le Resistance Française, Louis Bleriot, Marie Curie and the Marquis de Sade; take a bow!

Oh, can I just add this - Lance, the race is not about you. It's not about your charity work (admirable though it is). Don't hijack it like a prize c0ck. Now, go off and retire quietly.

Elfinsafety: well put!

(Unfortunately I did hear a rumour that Petachhi was under investigation... Might have been off here though, so probably rubbish...)

That camera shot from the side on the finishing straight was great. The way you got to see Cavendish come through! The rest of the guys on the front were quick but MAN ALIVE what a turn of speed the boy has!
This has been a great tour. It's had a bit of everything. Even my wife has been hooked by it and she's never really shown any interest in road cycling before.
If it turns out clean then it'll have been an excellent advert for road cycling.

I keep watching that finish by Cav and can't help laugh out loud when the side on camera shows him taking off. He just takes the rest of the sprinters to school when it goes right for him. Love watching the guy sprint.

Renshaw getting expelled was the best thing to happen to Cav - he's now silenced all the doubters who said his wins were due to the team and particulary Renshaw (I don't doubt that the team are important for chasing down breaks but he's proven he can win the final sprint without them).

Cav's speed isjust unreal, Surely he is going to win the green if he can just start the tour well.

spot on cheersdrive - watching him win sprints without the train is impressive also. Thought it was interesting that he was thanking his team profusely for the stage win today, but it was Cervelo at the head dragging Hushovd and cav jumped them all.
