Hey Stu,

Borrowed NBT/Bunnyhop's tandem for a couple of weeks. First spin out on it yesterday and we are hooked!!
Going to keep an eye out for a second hand one (maybe just a frame) and build it up Rohloff style.
As we talked about at the Pootle, the draggyness is getting on my nerves on the solo, but hoping it will be "absorbed" on a tandem.

Good idea?

As you already have the 'Hoff it'd be worth a try.
Only thing to watch out for is a lot of tandems have 145mm rear spacing.

Have a chat to the nice folks at JD Cycles about it. We found them very helpfull.

The T.U.R.D.S* are growing in numbers by the looks of things. 😀

Let's see how many teams we can get for the summer bimble in mid wales.

I like the disappearing solo riders in the background 😆

Amanda looks like she's being gently rocked to sleep there, she's that chilled 8)

That was another tandem. Their first propper ride on it though. Dan's usualy a lot quicker than me but just starting to get to grips with tandemeering.

😆 She didn't sound that chilled when we had a front wheel drift towards a tree. I had it all under control though. 😉

Dancake - there are a few specialist shops -jd tandem shop

Its an expensive game - you need strong wheels and forks and drivetrains get a hard life.

There is also an american shop http://www.mtbtandems.com/

Tehre are other shops as well.

cheers TJ

Would be a genuine thing to do with Mrs Dancake, but also needs to be good enough to have a bit of silliness with riding buddies now and again...

secondhand frames are rare but do crop up. Try one before you buy is always my advice - some folk simply don't get on with them.

There a re a few places that allow you to try one out before you buy or ask me or one of the other tandemeers on here

Edit - there you go - nice one singlespeedstu. similarly I am in Edinburgh is thats any good to you

cheers guys for the offers. Its one of those obsessions that grows or fades; I am not sure which way it will go yet 🙂

I do know someone who had a tandem. His wife wouldnt get on it so he ditched the idea. Note sure if he still has the frame though; he deffo kept the bits and built them into a 456
