Folks,
Picked up a planet-x full Monty that's crying out for a set of tan walls. What's my best options to consider?
Apparently the frame will take 40 as a max - what are my options with a mid range budget?
I'm riding hardpack and some looser gravel too.
Thanks
I'd measure the frame and forks to see how much room you have before commiting, tyres come up different sizes than is on the sidewall plus on different width rims.
WTB Resolute are my gravel tyres of choice at the moment.
Whitewall > Tanwall
40c Resolutes are the tyre of choice in our grav group. Really like them.
I’ve put resolutes (700x42)on my Vaya the other day for a first time run. Was able to do all the trails at local trail centre that I previously done on my Sherpa without any trouble, comfort and grip were fantastic ( tubeless), and bloody fast. I have enough space in the Vaya frame to run 700x50, these appear to come up true to size.
My Resolute 42mm on a 23.5mm rim at 25psi is 43mm, but a Nano 40mm on the same rim is 44mm, Nano on the back Resolute on the front.
I've had a tan Nano tear open at the bead. Anyone else had any problems. Going to send it back for a warranty, only managed a couple of hundred miles on it.
