I watched that video about the tall bike tour on the front page yesterday, made me want one, their capabilities for transportation of stuff looks good, and they look fun.
But today it struck me, won't they be quite difficult to ride up steep hills?
The issue arises that as they get taller you are sat further over the rear axle.
Hence why he used a tandem frame.
My friend commutes in Bristol on his and has no real issues. Not sure they are built /ridden by people too concerned about how they actually perform.
You'd not get them under the trees on the trails around here
Tall bikes are fantastic for riding really slowly, so easy to balance due to their height. Impossible to wheelie though.
I like this video when he struggles to fit under a freeway bridge.
