I have our little Trek up for sale at the moment.
I am being asked to ship it to Finland, reasons of it is hard to find that bike there etc etc.
User is on PB, with a *bit* of profile and currently selling another bike on there.
He is offering to PayPal (I won't do gift).
Anything I should be wary of?
Personally I wouldn't take the risk unless you are desperate for a quick sale.
Small framed bikes seem pretty popular, especially on ebay, and if you are willing to ship in the UK. You may find you'll get a better price on there.
What is the risk with Finland? You can't go round and hoof them in the slats if it all goes tits up?
I'd treat it loke any other sale. Active online profile etc, as you have done
What is the risk with Finland?
I've friends in Estonia who could pop over on the p*ss up ferry and deliver some suitable bomber to the shoes type revenge...
I'm in Sweden so we could do a classic pincer hoof
finland are in the EU, so just the same as shipping it to anywhere else in the eu.
edit: including the UK
I had some eBay items that - despite saying no outside UK - got sold within EU. In fact the first one was in Ukraine - was no issue despite my reservations, in fact conversed with the UKR guy for a while afterwards.
Subsequently other items went to Italy and Spain I think. Massive ghetto blaster thing, and a few bits of a train set. By that time there was the eBay global shipping program which helped a bit.
I sold a NOS 1997 GT BMX frame to a chap in Spain (£400 all in, including post), I was a bit wary about sending it but it got there ok and he was chuffed to bits with it. Paypal 'goods/services' and a decent insured courier should see you both ok.
