How easy is it to do? My soul has done about 3000 miles now and been bashed about and is starting to look a bit shabby in places. Thinking about getting it resprayed or powdercoated. There's a place near me that does it.
Is it easy to do the prep? Expensive?
I had my Stumpjumper powder coated and so far it's been fine. The biggest job was removing all the bearings and putting them back in, but the finish is good and I did zero prep other than stripping it down. They did everything, the result was good and I didn't cost must at all.
Do you live anywhere near Sheffield? There's a frame builder called Cycles in Motion who can blast and powder coat a frame and they specialise in bikes so they won't butcher it.
They did my Geometron and it was perfect. A Soul will be easy in comparison but definitely find someone who has done a bike before not just the cheapest back alley place you can find.
Defo more hassle than it's worth stripping the paint yourself.
Get it powdercoated and they do it all except dismantle shit.
I've had about 3 frames done now.. Relatively cheap too.
I'm over near Warrington but there's a place nearby that does powder coating and resprays. If all I have to do is take it to bits I'm happy.
