STW great & good, give me your opinions on brakes. Please.
Currently running 2012 XT 785's on my Tallboy, by thinking of swapping to Hope Tech M4's. Presently got 185mm ice tech rotors front and rear and ride where I live in the Lakes - Kentmere, Grizedale, Ambleside mainly.
Looking for brakes with a little more feel and hopefully equal strength as the XT's. Anyone run/running both? Pile welcome any comments. What would you expect XT's with rotors to be worth?

The feel,of the hopes is better, not as on/off
They squeal when wet which the xts didn't
Overall I think the m4s area a better quality brake, and. I Think more powerful
Although I still think the xt are a great brake
Ive heard other people say their hope m4 squeal when wet. Mine don't, not had them long, but about 5 wet rides in and not a single squeal. I really like them. Running them with ice tech rotors, 203/180.
I find the organic pads can make a bit of noise but hope sintered and ssc red Kevlar have been quiet.
onza's onto something, i personally don't mind the abrupt bite but if you do then maybe look at using some other pads?
