According to The Rules, you can't take bikes on peak time South West trains. Yet, there were a few people I saw with bikes getting off at Farnborough from trains that would have been at Waterloo well before 10.

Anyone use SW trains with a bike?

I think you will find you can take bikes out of Waterloo in the morning rush hour but not take bikes into Waterloo. The other way around in the evening rush hour. Look at the key in the link you posted it explains it better than me. Then again if you have a folding bike I think you can pretty much do what you like but dont quote me on that.

I was confused by "The Rules" and rang SW trains up, but they weren't much clearer. It seems it doesn't just apply to going into Waterloo, it's the stations before too.

People on the train this morning with bikes, they were all folding ones albeit unfolded.
