You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I'm seriously considering splurging on one of these, as I can't make a normal tailpack play nicely with dropper posts, despite trying various options. The solidity and lower C-of-G really appeal too.
However - any thoughts on which pack to go for? Initial thought was Cargo, but its heavier and I'm not sure the extra 3l of space in the pockets is entirely a good thing - its just an excuse to carry more stuff, but it feels a bit better featured, and obviously much easier to bodge stuff on the outside temporarily.
Thanks..
I have the (alloy) AeroPack and haven't had any problems with it. However, if I was buying now I think I would go for the new Cargo. It's the same volume as the AeroPack but those external pockets make staching items you would like to get at quickly (e.g. waterproof and snacks) much easier and more convenient.
I would also pay the extra for the version with pannier mounts for a bit of future-proofing.
Oh, and buy the extender piece for the seat post mount. Unless you have a very steep seat tube or a very high saddle the pack will not fit under your saddle with the standard mount.
I have the new version Aeropack, so it has the extra 3l in side stash pockets. I also have the extender seat post mount.
I’d buy the same setup again, really can’t fault it, once you get the hang of it, removal and refitting is literally 20 seconds.
