Both good bikes im sure and will be test riding both in he new year but which one would you buy?
T129 for me on this, better brakes and generally a nicer bike to ride.
Although for the price difference you could probably fit better brakes and a reverb to the Stumpy.
Ridden last year's t129 and the carbon stumpy EVO, both belong to mates. T129 was excellent but the stumpy was probably the best bike I've ridden even taking into account frame material and price difference.
Stumpy Evo here. I was completely blown away by my test ride, something I wasn't expecting at all given the wagon wheels and (relatively) steep HA. Even in the depths of a muddy Kentish winter I'm amazed at what the Stumpy will climb and how well it descends.
Crumbly BB aside, there's nothing about the stock bike's spec I couldn't live with...but I swapped the shifters/mech for XT ten speed, the brakes for Hope M4s and the bars & stem for wider/shorter items.
