Anyone got a bike (or experience) with the Syntace X12 system?
how easy is to use? How does it compare with Maxle?
its the easiest system in the world
yep I have, it's essentially the same as maxle, but the extra 7mm is a 3.5mm slot in each rear dropout, which the wheel slots into. it's how maxle should have been designed originally.
cheers.
I've got Maxle-Lite on my Thors, and that has slots for the wheel to slot into. Sounds like a great design. Thanks.
? oh, I thought maxle frames didn't have any slots for the wheel. I thought you had to sort of hold the wheel and frame in alignment and then push the maxle axle thing thru.
Don't know about the frames, I've only got it on a pair of forks.
I have 135 x 12 on my Nicolai - and holding the rear wheel in place with the chain tugging it forward while threading the maxle/bolt through is a pain in the rectum. The 142 x 12 has lips in the dropout which supports the wheel in place so you don't have to. As above - it's how the 135 x 12 should have been done.
Yes
Very easy
Better than Maxle imo - little to go wrong
Can you convert a 135 Hope Pro 2 to 142 syntace?
Yes, the conversion kit is approx £20 I think. I did the Pro2 conversion a few months ago for my Cube Stereo frame. Mine was a standard QR to 12mm X 142mm Syntace/X-12 swap, but the Pro2 is def convertible.
