In my continued pursuit of marginal aero "commuter" gains I'm now looking at internally routed aero roadbars (also because they look better ofc).

Figure I'll need to cut the hydraulic hoses etc to do this, right?

Considering Bontrager's alu bars, heavy at 340g but relatively cheap at £50 and looks aero to me, which means they are..

If you want more aero you would be better off fitting a set of clipons to your existing bars and riding in a tt position when you have the chance. That’s good for a good 1 to 2 mph increase to your average

Yeah I tried and have TT bars but not a fan, not good for riding in traffic (less safe) not to speak of their appalling looks.

Upgrade pick: Prima Primavera Carbon £120 240g (Chainreaction brand)

I have those bonty bars. I quite like them. I'm running rim brakes and Di2 and they're not a terrible faff to route through

I've got some cannondale ones that were an absolute pain. You want the exit at the shifter end to be a decent distance from the shifter so the cables turn after exiting the bar. Trying to get cables to enter into the bars and then immediately turn ninety degrees is frustrating.
