Has anyone got experience fiddling with the sram hydraulic road levers?
The new cross bike has arrived but it's set up with euro style brakes. I need to switch them over, but I was wondering whether it required a full bleed? The Sram service video makes it pretty clear how to go about doing the switch, but I don't know if I can get away with just opening the reservoir caps, switching the hoses and tightening it all back up, without having to replace all the o-rings and re-bleed the system.
If anyone has fettled with theirs already, I'd appreciate some advice!
Alright, an update for anyone interested. I went ahead and tried the hose switch without having a full bleed kit. I managed to get the front brake done pretty simply, and it seems to be just fine. The rear brake didn't go as smoothly though; I think it will need a full bleed unfortunately.
Overall they're pretty easy to work with - the T10 screws holding the reservoir caps on are nice and solid and didn't strip easily. It's a shame you have to open the reservoirs to change the hoses, but I guess there is only limited space in those levers to fit everything in.
I'll be bleeding them today and hopefully riding it this weekend.
