[Closed] SwissStop Pads - Really that good?

A while ago I asked for a recommendation for replacement road bike brake pads over the original Shimano 105s fitted to my bike. I felt that the Shimano pads were "combat ineffective" in the wet.

I've since replaced them with SwissStops as recommended by quite a number of people, but they seem worse in the wet than the Shimanos.

Am I missing something?

Gotta agree, currently running some Swisstop greens and they are ok, but won't buy them again.
I've used Koolstop salmon (orange) pads before and they are great in the wet and just as good in the dry.

They seem to be "standard" for carbon rims, but I've never found them that much better on normal alloy ones.

I rate the clarks multi compound ones. Still not great in the wet (is anything?) But much better than Shimano IMO.

All well and good, but I'm talking road bike here...

In any case, I did clean my rims with IPA.

Too good for cleaning wheels 🙂

FWIW, Koolstop Salmon here and they were a wet weather braking revelation!

Kool Stop salmons are amazeballs.

Bit disappointed with the SwissStop pads in my new Rival calipers by comparison.

I've used Swisstop Green for ages in Campag calipers on Ksyriums and they're ace in the wet for me. I've used Koostop Salmon too and they were also very good. Maybe the compound's changed or they don't like your rims.

I'm liking my SwissStops for commuting, much better than Dura Ace.

Worth the extra in my opinion.

Hmmm, glad its not just me that didn't think the Swissstop greens were particularly good (although they had a better initial bite than the KS salmons when it was very wet). Back on the salmons now, much better overall IMO
