I’ve got a few days off work and was wondering if anyone has been to Swinley this week and could let me how it’s holding up after the rain last week.

i live an hour away and the local conditions are now fairly sloppy.

Many thanks in advance.

Might be splashy, but its a surfaced trail center, so even when Noah is out with his chainsaw you will be fine.

(what tyres for polished wet pebbles will be your next search)

I had a great time on Sunday afternoon - I was well splattered but happy at the end having done the blue and red and set a new pb.

Thanks, is most of the red open now, as when I was last there quite a bit closed.

I only ever run Maxxis Minion DHR 2 in 3C Max Terra so hopefully i’ll Be ok!

All open. I was a bit upset by the felling in labyrinth but at least the trail has survived. I loved labyrinth being so close to the trees - has anyone ever experienced other trails like it other than the unofficial Swinley ones?

I was there today, all the trails are running fine. A few puddles in the hollows on the armoured trails, but in isn't boggy. Even red section No. 2 was OK.  Bike will need a hose down and clean after though.

Thanks all, think I’ll pop over on Thursday or Friday!

Jaminb, my 800mm bars didn’t like the labyrinth much when I was there in June!

Labyrinth is one of the old school trails that got adopted and doesn't suffer from gingerfication and cobbles. Just twisty and rooty.

Anyway, if you haven't noticed, Babymaker has had official improvements. Might be suffering from the wet though as was sticky other week on opening just after rain. Needs some bedding in.

Thanks to the Trail Team cleaning it up (+ fixing babymaker as above).

It's strange how much I relied on the trees for knowing lines, without the trees it felt really awkward and slow!

I'm sure it'll be better next summer when some undergrowth sprouts up to fill in the gaps, but at the moment it's lost it's character.

Agree with your first point, first time I rode it after clearing I didn't have a clue where I was and came out at the end all of a sudden without expecting it.  I do miss the enclosing nature that the trees gave (and will miss on a summer evening), though am now a bit more used to the new look.  I'm more into the descending type of riding, but really enjoy labyrinth with the up & down twisty nature and roots.  Definitely one of the more fun and challenging sections to ride fast and well.
