So I’ve a demo ride on an aeris booked for this Saturday however when I went last Sunday the trails were almost unrideable because of the ice and snow. My gears and wheels even got jammed up and frozen stiff, was a right laugh though. Deep puddles also flooded some of the what looked like otherwise fun climbs.
Just wondering if it’s improved much since then as it’s hard to get a feel for how a bike rides etc if you spend most of the time seated slogging through mud.
Cheers
It’s fine, snow gone, trails drain fast.
Avoid Red2 (& big puddles)
Good to hear, thanks. On trailforks it shows a path running parallel to red 2 between 1 and 3 which I'll take.
Yep, at end of Red1 turn right and go up firewood instead of across it
Now to just figure out if the blue is worth riding as I didn't think much of it last time (obviously not representative of how it was last time), could just do red but can't recall which good bits were in blue, it was all under snow.
It's worth it if you're demo'ing the bike as you can just ride the bike and follow the path and think about the bike rather than shortcuts etc. Agree there is some dull blue but some is also great if you hit it fast.
Id ride both, TBH there isn't much difference between the two, and skipping the boring bits probably still only saves 10minutes or so by the time you've ridden to the red on the fire road.
Both it is, weather's looking a lot better (and warmer) than last time so should be a good day. Never used a dropper either so that'll cut down the amount I have to stop...
It’s running well at the moment, drivetrain was cleaner than when I set off, it didn’t feel like I was towing a car tyre on a rope and I didn’t want to throw the single speed in a hedge.
