It was a slog today - total mudfest, sometimes I wonder why I bother, but it was a good work out and the endorphins kicked in when I got home.

Surprised to see so many big groups out today, obviously they didn’t see the Tier 4 news yesterday, either that or they have the same attitude as the motorbike riders that were out - police to busy to care.

None of that bothered me, what did was the chap riding towards me up the devils highway with the brightest front light I have ever seen - I wouldn’t mind if it was dark, but this was 11am in the morning. I thought someone had dropped a nuke from space - WTF - this thing was an assault. If this was you - have some consideration - not only of other bikers but walkers, dogs, anything with eyes!!! Absolutely no need. I think I will get a laser pen to shine back at you if I see you again.....

Most of my local routes are pretty unridable. I was wondering whether Swinley was worth a visit in the wet, I guess not!

Will have to stick to gravel tracks for a while.

Rode over in the afternoon, was fine. Some puddles as you'd expect. The routes to get there were sloppy but passable. The return leg in the dark was a bit more of a challenge, guessing solid bits and quagmires.

I didn't see any large groups just one chap who rode past (whilst I stopped for a cereal bar) very close despite having a massive open area to ride in. I assume he was hungry or forgetful.

Helmet light stays off till dark and low power until needed. Hand goes over the light if I meet others.

Went again today - I know must be a glutton for punishment, but it was that or panic buying in Tesco’s.

Much quieter today. Still not much more enjoyable in the mud.

At least my eyes weren’t burnt out by the rider with the sun on his bars today!

A friend of mine went there a couple of weekends ago and said it was absolutely rammed, the car park was full. He was walking and taking his granddaughter on the Go Ape circuit, but said there were an awful lot of bikes there. Might be different now as its on the fringe of London is it in Tier 4?

I'm local. Rode there yesterday and it was really quiet. Seems quite variable at the moment.

Ha just got back and am jet washing sand out of places no sand should go. Swinley is my local and its fairly quiet at the moment. Funny that a full blue red blue loop takes you into Surrey... Which now is tier 4 with berks but was tier 2 a while back. Car park pretty much empty between 2 - 4pm today.

Still came across quite a few big groups.... 6+ riders on (mainly) e bikes congregating round vans in the overflow. May have been all brothers or lovers for all I know so live and let live.

Just can't be bothered to get annoyed anymore

Not for long! BTW I saw that British cycling are saying that if you're in tier 4 then exercise isn't one of the valid reasons to leave, which is different to their guidance on tier 3. I've been good and planned an entirely tier 4 road loop tomorrow despite only being a mile or so from the sunlit uplands of tier 2.
