Im looking at swapping out my M8000 xt brakes to either Saints or Zees, The question im asking could i just swap the calipers and use the xt levers or do the levers have different amounts of fluid pressure (as it were ) going to the caliper, would be much easier than messing with a cable re-route through the frame and a bleed is easy enough.
cheers
You can definitely just change the calipers over to Saint or Zee.
I'm running a Saint caliper in the front on M8000 lever. No complaints
Yes you can, we have a couple of sets we have done it on. You will also need new banjo bolts as they are not interchangeable.
Cheers , just an after thought the newer m8020 dual piston calipers are they just rebranded zees ?
What about the new 4 pot deores, Rose bikes have a complete pair of brakes for around £110 delivered, maybe cheaper than buying just 4 pot calipers?
Went with the Saints calipers as they came with finned pads and a bolt through retaining pin. Got a good deal on them with BC discount and topcashback. Wanted to keep the adjustability of the levers which ruled the Deores out for us.
I thought you could buy an upgrade kit for the M8000 brakes to the new 4 pot XT capliers as they use the same lever.
Found an example:
Looked at that option when we did ours but worked out a bit cheaper to use saints and a lot cheaper for the zees.
