Hi all. After spectating at Ard Rock at the weekend, I realised I've never ridden Swaledale outside of Ard Rock. I've seen that theres a handful of routes on the Dales Bike Centre website - what are people's opinions on must-do rides in the area? Anything that has Ard Rock-esque descents?

Fell End descent from Fremington Edge is good, Bunton Hush into Gunnerside gill as well. The Pipeline descent (BW running NE from the top of Harker Top) is good in a straight line, 6" wide, sniper rocks hidden in heather kind of way. That's about it for legal stuff. There's some cheeky stuff about as well.

There's generally nothing as sustained as Ard Rock since it's all bridleways, ofwhich are generally either dead straight or been turned into a shooting track.

I’ve no experience of Ardrock but Ayton Gill and Flintergill in Dentdale are certainly testing. Flintergill can be extremely slippery if it’s wet so you’ll need your fatbike!
