Awesome race - can't believe he hasn't won a WC race since 2012/13. Excellent racecraft in setting up that finish, knowing he wanted to be first to the final corner and beating Van Aert psychologically to the sprint.

No joke having Van Aert chasing you down, total master class. Pauwels had a real result too considering the first couple of laps.
I forgot to mention how good the women's race was too. Harris did an amazing ride after the puncture.

Michael Vantournhout crashed, admitted to hospital but nothing broken, just bruises according to Sporza.be

I think Sven's attack on the last lap in GP Hasselt was the highlight for me, the Kannibaal at his best and the point that turned his season around. The emotion at the finish was palpable.

Great weekend for Sven but also nice to see VdP going balls-out as if he's never been away.

This thread is not about the reindeer in Frozen. Iz disappoints.

Good thread, just spent a couple of hours finding out about CX and enjoying the UCI channel.

Hats off to you guys that do CX, looks tough.

Was a great weekend 🙂

Super to see VdP also back in action. Looks dangerous....

Sven was marvelous to watch. Seems to have found his sweet spot now the weather has turned to more typical Belgian conditions. It was shocking on the coast yesterday with snow / hail & bitterly cold wind.

He was smart to drop the pace of the penultimate lap by almost 30 secs and recover a bit for the final push in the mud.

Crowd reaction was massive! He was even on the radio this morning talking about his weekend:)

I was in 't Kuipke velodrome watching the 6-day yesterday afternoon and the noise the crowd made when the announcer said who had won at Koksijde was huge. Can't wait to watch the full replay this evening!

I was supposed to be going to Hamme next weekend, but can't now. Gutted as its an awesome course and Sven should be pumped. I fancy one of the 'Van up' boys for that one.

Should still be on UCI YouTube channel they leave it up after live broadcast.

We streamed it off a bar's Wi-Fi in Phitsanulok, Thailand 🙂 Sadly missed women's live but will catch up with it. A universally popular win (and esp for us old guys with CX bikes...).
