Hi folks,

Has anyone rode the sutton bank red 17.5 mile trail recently?
Because of the new restrictions our birthday plans on 23rd for my fiancée can’t go ahead but we’re thinking of a ride in our same Tier 2 if the weather isn’t terrible.

However I know that up there it can get VERY wet in winter! Last time we went in deep winter before you go into boltby forest it can be so wet on the tops you can’t even see your tyres for mud!

Thanks

It’s wet at the moment.

If I was going to do it I’d just ignore the section behind Kirby knowle and take the road round to boltby.

The fort return climb bit is holding up relatively well as is the piece round high paradise. The descent (Wilkies loop?) is very damp but mostly puddles.

Brilliant thanks for the reply, might wait for it to dry out a bit in that case and find a harder wearing route!!

On the positive most of it seems to dry out pretty quickly. If we get couple of dry days it will be a lot better

If its an option, I rode Dalby 2 weeks ago after we'd had a week almost solid of rain and it was holding up very well.
