I am happy with the way my bikes rides locally (Calderdale) but after a cracking weekend riding the 4 Passes and Nan Bield I am left wondering if the trails are really brutal or is there something I can do about it with a bit of twiddling? Softer or harder? Faster or slower? Ooh err missus!

Pike with a Vorsprung (air) and CCDB IL on an Airdrop Edit.

On the plus side I rode a few sections I bottled last time 🙂 And we had a beer with some Jenriders at the brewery in Staveley. They almost made me want to have a go...

Did you perchance happen across a tall Yank called Lars?

On another note - we went to BPW and found that slowing the rebound down a tad helped soften things up. As did dropping the shock pressure a little. I know I’m not the most aggressive (or regular) rider - so there’s probably a lot of others who’ve got better advice!

Good point. I've just realised that my bike felt harsh down Earnies too so maybe thats the place to do some knob twiddling...

What you need is another new bike.

Too right Bro in Law, I'll tell your sister its your fault..

More testing required, my local woodsy trails are obviously not brutal enough.

use the cane creek app - it is pretty good at setting up the bike.

Lars has made me consider getting fit enough to do a bit of bikepacking. I know I’m never gonna be fast (or young) enough to go full enduro but I reckon with a bit of practise I might manage an overnighter

If #jennride happens again next year I might be tempted

Thanks Poah, thats my plan. I built the bike up this winter but until now I guess the trails I have ridden have been less rocky so it felt good.
